Introduction

bittime is a simple, small and lightweight binary clock for XWindows.

It displays 24 hour time in binary. Reading a binary clocks needs a little getting used to, but having one on your desktop can provide a real cool look which might be well worth the effort.

The clock displays hours, minutes and seconds each represented by 2 led columns. Each row has a value associated with it. The time can be read by adding the row values in each column.

e.g. The time 22:26:29 would be represented as

Features

  • Minimal resource usage (runs easily on resource challenged machines).

  • Minimal dependencies (depends on Xlib, compiles with GCC).

  • 24 hour time.

  • Two color LEDs (blue and red).

The inspiration for bittime came from here!
